Meetings
Who
4H is open to youth between the ages of 5-18. For the purpose of this club ages 10 and up will be considered. Younger siblings of club members are welcome to participate! Parents will be required to stay for dog handling purposes. Learn more about 4H.
What
This club will focus on our canine compantions. Children will learn about showmanship, agility, rally, and scent work.
When
4th Saturday of the Month @ 3pm
***Club members have access to a 50% discount on all Group Classes at Mischief Managed for additional training time***

567 South County Trail Suite 301 Exeter, RI 02822 or at a local farm if doing agility!
Why
To foster a love for dogs in our youth! To teach children how to effectively train their dogs using modern, science based training methods. Training a dog will build a deeper bond between child and dog. But, mostly to have children learn how to enjoy and have fun with their dogs!
Canine Requirements
Friendly
No aggression to other dogs or people!
Age
Any age of dog welcome!
Breed
Any breed or mix of breeds welcome! A size consideration should be made when pairing children with a dog to handle. A young and exuberant large breed dog will be very difficult for a child to handle! Parent help will be required until the team is able to work independently.
Trainability
All dogs are trainable, but kids may find it extremely challenging and frustrating to work with dogs that are not easily biddable.
Dogs should be willing to work for food and/or toys for their handler to make this experience most enjoyable for the child to work with the dog.
Health
Rabies vaccine required! Strongly recommend Distemper/Parvo, Lepto, and Bordetella! Dogs should be healthy to participate! Vet exam may be required prior to starting agility.
