Dog Training Services Overview
Imagine if all dogs were well behaved and polite in society! What would that look like? Dogs would likely be allowed in more public places, but instead we see more and more public places banning dogs. Why is this happening?
Maybe too often people don’t clean up after their dog? Or maybe it is because of dogs behaving poorly? Jumping on people, stealing food, barking, growling, lunging, or worse biting someone or something? It is likely a combination of these things.
What can we do to help? We can train our dogs to a high level using positive reinforcement to show that dogs are indeed able to be a part of our world.
How do we do this? We will coach you through all of the steps to help you on your quest for a well behaved dog. Students, friends, and families are encouraged to join our Facebook group community to help you stay on the right track!
Manners Classes in Richmond, RI
Group manners classes are suitable for dogs who are not aggressive towards humans or other dogs.
Group classes are part of our flexible scheduling! Classes meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings at The Fetch Room.
Basic to Advanced manners will be covered! Because of the flexible scheduling some teams might be on class 1 learning their name and another team in the same class will be on class 10 working on recalls past a food bowl!
Individual and group instructions will be given to help you progress to the next step in your training.
Another bonus to the flex pass style is that your dog will not always be in class with the same group of dogs. This is a great way to teach your dog how to behave around all sorts of different dogs and their handlers!
K9 Nose Work® Classes
This class is for your super sniffers! Any dog can do scent detection. Young or old. Shy or confident. Reactive or friendly. Handicapped or not. It is truly a sport for any dog and handler to participate in.
Nose work engages the dogs brain in doing something they are naturally very good at – sniffing! Dogs explore the world through their noses and K9 Nose Work® will allow them an outlet for all that sniffing.
By engaging your dog’s sense of smell you will see some benefits in your daily life with your dog! Your dog will be tired after working, confidence will be boosted, and reactivity may decrease are just a few examples of the benefits.
If your dog barks and lunges at other dogs when on leash this class is for you! Reactive dogs need a more controlled environment to work in so this class is limited to 4 teams per class.
This class is not part of the flex class program and will run for 7 weeks with the first week being a human only orientation.
In this class you will learn successful management strategies for home, car rides, and being out in public to make your time with your dog more enjoyable.
In addition to management strategies we will also coach you to help your dog learn that he does not need to lunge and bark at other dogs. We will help him to feel more comfortable around other dogs.
